#JourneysToTheUnderWorld (#traditionalChinese: 地獄遊記; #simplifiedChinese: 地狱游记; #pinyin: Dìyù Yóujì), also known as #VoyagesToHell, is a #Taiwanese novel describing what Yangsheng (楊生), a #planchette handler, saw and heard when he followed his master #JiGong to hell on the instruction of the #JadeEmperor. The story is about the consequences resulting from actions during the life of a person. It contains journeys made by Ji Gong.

Hsu Hung-chi or Xu Hongji (#simplifiedChinese: 许鸿基; #traditionalChinese: 許鴻基; #pinyin: Xǔ Hóngjī) (1934–1984) was a Taiwanese #martialArtist who specialized in the #Neijia of #xingyiquan, #baguazhang and #taijiquan. Hsu was born in Taihoku, #TaihokuPrefecture, in 1934 to a family of six brothers. In school, he was very athletic and participated in swimming, soccer and #judo. He began his study of #ShaolinKungFu with his father at an early age. He also learned boxing.

what on earth is going on in this sentence? i might try to work this out for myself later, just thinking aloud for now…

"a/k/a" is bizarre, but not very interesting, the names are more interesting.
I would guess that the first names listed are the standard transcriptions of their names in #Pinyin from Simplified Chinese?
But why is it different in their English names?
Harry and Lea make sense, the closest common English name … but Zan is weird?
#Taiwan uses a different system to Pinyin … but would the USA refer to them as being from the PRC? and if they were a Taiwanese spy working for the PRC to steel microchip making secrets, they'd be in Taiwan?
Maybe Hong Kong or Macau ?
Maybe judder easier to spell for Americans? but then a Pinyin X would be an S or Sh if you wrote it more phonetically?
Maybe a spy alias that's not even supposed to be the same name?
