A surprising, to me, benefit of riding a single speed bicycle: not having to think about changing gears means I get lost in the moment more. I just *keep on pedalling*, to paraphrase Dora in Finding Nemo. 😀

I find the ride more relaxing even when I have to work harder to get up some of the hills in Crawley.

The single speed, which I bought for little money, from a charity shop, to reduce the stress I would suffer when leaving my more expensive bikes locked up in town, is turning into my bike of choice for more rides than I would have expected.

This makes me think I should try turning the rear wheel around and try going full fixie! But maybe not as I'd probably kill myself. 😄

Fick erbjudande om förmånscykel. Funderar på #cykel med skivbroms. Inser sen att jag inte tänker cykla 13 km till jobbet om det är sånt väder att det är viktigt med skivbroms.

Projekt #Singlespeed: der Rahmen ist ein extra für Singlespeed gebauter der Marke Elops. Ich muss meine alten Felgen (Mavic Racing mit flachen Speichen) zwar noch reparieren und Abstandhalter anpassen, aber es wird ein geiles Bike.

From the podcast it sounds in general like many of the participants are "pretty cooked". Huge respect for them keeping going.

I would like to build a second #ebike with a Bafang BBS02B 750 W mid-drive motor kit. This time, I would choose a bicycle with mulitple gears, instead of a #singlespeed

My current 500 W rear hub motor singlespeed is barely enough to get me up the mild hills of my town, and I only get about 20 miles out of a fully-charged 504 Wh battery, because I use it mostly on the highest assist setting.

I want something like a Soma Buena Vista mixte. I wear mostly skirts and dresses.

It turns out that street is the flattest route between my home and our downtown business district, so it is now my preferred route, to save my legs and my battery, because I ride a #singlespeed #ebike, usually filled with handbag, briefcase, and groceries.

Nach den 520 km 4700 hm der Styrkeprøven, heute mit dem Express Rad BJ 1957, 3 km 41 hm, zum Semmel holen. Ohne Gangschaltung auch ein Training.

Mein #klapprad
Ich mag das sehr. Name ist Programm: das vordere Schutzblech klappert.
Seit vielen Jahren in vielen Urlauben dabei hat mich das Rad schon viel begleitet. Irgendwie witzig, mir macht das total Spaß zu fahren.
Schnell ist anders. Aber ich verbinde das eben auch mit entspanntheit und Urlaub. Daher eher so 40min+ für 10km.
Vorderrad ist getauscht da Orginal kaputt ging. Längere Sattelstütze und andere Reifen - sonst an sich auslieferzustand.
