“Microplastic pollution has been found in all human semen samples tested in a study, and researchers say further research on the potential harm to reproduction is “imperative”.
Sperm counts in men have been falling for decades and 40% of low counts remain unexplained, although chemical pollution has been implicated by many studies.
The 40 semen samples were from healthy men undergoing premarital health assessments in Jinan, China. Another recent study found microplastics in the semen of six out of 10 healthy young men in Italy, and another study in China found the pollutants in half of 25 samples.”

“Microplastics have also recently been discovered in human blood, placentas and breast milk, indicating widespread contamination of people’s bodies. “

"Global sperm counts are falling. This scientist believes she knows why

(...) For more than two decades [Shanna Swan] has devoted her life to studying the effects of “endocrine disrupting” chemicals (#EDCs), which can interfere with the body’s natural hormones. These include pesticides, bisphenols, which harden plastic so it can be used in food storage containers and baby bottles, and phthalates, which soften plastic for use in packaging and products such as garden hoses. In recent years, traces of EDCs have been found in breast milk, placental tissue, urine, blood and seminal fluid.

(...)the innocuous products in your kitchen cupboard, bathroom cabinet or garden shed may be lowering sperm counts. They could also affect the reproductive systems of your unborn children. The implications of EDCs for human health don’t stop there: they can disrupt thyroid function, trigger cancer and obesity."

2022 Sweden has the lowest birth rate in 15 years. And 8% lower than last year.

A few more COVID infections down the line and we'll be down to zero in baby production capabilities. COVID infected men have 63% normal sperm count already.

A paper published last week by Levine et al in Human Reproductive Update states that sperm counts have now dropped 62.3% over a 50 year period (up from 59.3%) and are continuing to drop at a rate of 2.64% (4.7m sperm/year).
