Standing next to a lake beneath a pale blue sky. There are many clouds moving in from the horizon, with a few clouds higher up, including some thin hazy clouds. The wooded far shore of the lake is silhouetted against the sun, with two low descending ridges meeting in a shallow V. The sun is shining through some of those thin hazy clouds as it approaches the treetops of the righthand ridge. Several branches of a submerged dead tree project above the lake surface not far offshore. The lake surface mirrors the sky and the two ridges. It is flat and calm except for dozens of small circular ripples created by a raindrops from a light shower.

In the deepening twilight of post sunset, we are standing beside a large lake, looking over a tangled thicket of leafy plants and wildflowers. Both this shore and the wooded far shore are mostly silhouetted in the fading light. Beneath a pale blue gray sky, the lingering gold and orange of the sunset tint the horizon and are mirrored on the slightly rippled water below.

Coming out onto a cliff of coarse brown rock with numerous cracks and fissures. There are patches of golden brown dormant grass growing in many of the cracks. A forest of cedars and leafless hardwoods grows on either side of the cliff. The view is just appearing, some rolling hills and buildings a few hundred feet below. The late afternoon sky is a pale blue gray. Most of the visible sky is covered with a cluster of hazy thin clouds. The sun, setting behind the haze, is a large roundish blob of golden fire, painting the surrounding haze orange and yellow.

Laying beside a large lake looking out from ground level through nearby shallows filled with partially submerged rocks and water grasses. A leafy shrub frames the scene to our left. A fresh summer breeze is rippling the waters. The pale blue evening sky is filled with long hazy gray clouds. Towards the left, near where the sun has recently set, the clouds are smeared with bright gold and orange. Many of the ripples on the lake below are catching those colors.

Close to our house is a large wall to block the sounds of the nearby highway. A few years ago, I had a clear view on the sunset. I asked my wife to parade over this wall. We both had bluetooth earsets and phones, so I could instruct her to walk or stand still, while I was making my photos. Due to new houses, this clear view is gone now 😭.
