Interestingly enough, Beseler, as the US distributor for Tokyo Kogaku, not only distributed Topcon products under the Topcon colors / graphic design, but also other products, such as this electronic flash made by Toshiba...

As can be seen, the book cover reflected the Topcon logo and colors. For example, it matches the box of this mid 1960s Beseler Topcon Super D camera. Even the boxes were high quality, just like everything the Tokyo Kogaku company produced. You might still run into the Topcon name when you go to your optometrist or ophthalmologist, as they also made optical medical equipment

"Deja vu"
Shreve and Lamb designed and built the Reynolds building in 1929 and won some awards. On this success they were given the job for the Empire State Building which was finished in 1931. Definitely some family resemblance.

Bill yard.
Opened in 1969 to serve the new Schlitz Brewery on Barnes Rd in Winston Salem NC (next to US-52), continued for that purpose in 1982 when Stroh Brewery acquired them, until the closing in 1999. It continues to be used today as a general classification area, a triage yard.
Taken with #topcon IC-1 #35mm #slr with #topcor UV 35mm f3.5 and Ilford HP5 plus iso 400 (expired).

Went around taking pictures with the silver Tokyo Kogaku #topcon IC-1 version 1 camera. This one if from around 1973. Test roll of film came out fine. Auto aperture mode works on this camera, seals are ok. I paired it with the #topcor 35mm f3.5 lens and hood. I used some Ilford HP5 plus, 36 exposure, expired (perfect to test a camera whose status and performance is unknown, no big loss).
Starsky and Hutch
#Fujifilm x-t20, speed booster, adapter and Tokyo Kogaku UV Topcor 100mm f4 lens. Strong grain and film simulation settings tweaked for that vintage 70s look.
Hutch (David Soul) left us earlier this year, but the cars endure. This is not an original from the TV show, but a 1976 Ford Gran Torino, a special edition matching the movie car. 1100 we're made.

Fujifilm XT-20, Acros std b&w film simulation, strong grain, speed booster M42 to Fuji X, Topcor UV to M42 adapter, Tokyo Kogaku Topcor UV 100mm f4 short telephoto.
For close-up, I add a Topcon Close up n.1 filter lens. For contrast I use topcon red R2 or yellow Y2 or gradient filters. You can get similar result (close) with Acros R or Acros Ye.

And for reference, here are the other two silver and black versions of the UV Topcor 53mm lenses. The one on the right is the intermediary model, with a slit instead of a j slot, and the left has the late "solid" tabs. The lens release button is also different. Optical design appears to be the same for all 3 versions of the lens.

With the lens removed from the Wink S Mirror camera, the mount on the lens side reveals the earliest type of lens mount, with the retaining tabs having a J slot, possibly to apply some pressure on the opening tabs on the camera mount side. I've only seen this J slot on the 53mm, but I suppose an early 35mm or 100mm lens from 1963 would have the same.
Uses a seikosha leaf shutter like the Uni.

The first Topcon camera using UV Topcor interchangeable lenses was the Wink S Mirror. This was based on the Topcon Wink E mirror (Beseler Topconette in the US), the E for "electric eye", a selenium cell to meter light.
The 1962 Wink E had fixed lens whereas the 1963 Wink S had 3 lenses available: 53mm f2, 35mm f3.5 and 100mm f4. notice the large selenium meter in front of the pentaprism.
Also sold as the Porst Reflex S.

I really like this one. The film grain enhances the concrete and cement look, and the window is reflecting on the street shaded by the building behind me.
