Die „Dicke Marie' gilt als der älteste Baum Berlins. Ihr Alter wird auf über 800 Jahre geschätzt. Ihren Namen soll sie von den Brüdern W. und A. von Humboldt enhalten haben, in Anspielung auf die wohlbeleibte Köchin im Schloß Tegel, in dem sie aufwuchsen.

Die #Stieleiche hat eine Höhe von rund 18,5m und einen Stammumfang von 5,98m/Durchmesser von rund 1,90 m.

This is the first time I've done a focus stack that hasn't involved a macro lens and tiny fungi or lichen, but I really liked this moss covered root reaching out to the world and I happened to have my tripod with me for once, so I thought I'd give it a quick go. It was too cold to hang around for long though.
