@txtechnician @bradlinder #postmarketos is a long-term strategy. I believe that eventually, it will be a viable alternative for devices that are not supported by their manufacturers anymore (just like Linux is now).
If you want a Linux *now* that is ready to be your daily driver, you can look into #ubuntutouch (e.g. on the #fairphone5 )- Ubuntu Touch will eventually also benefit from the #postmarketos efforts, as they might then be able to use the mainline kernel on many devices.
OMG, the Qt6 version of Morph Browser is absolutely awesome now!
It even finally renders Wafrn correctly and executes WebAssembly!

@tirifto Contrairement à #UbuntuTouch, qui a été abandonné par son entreprise. Là l'entreprise y travaille toujours.
Si un téléphone de moins de 70mm de large est supporté un jour je testerai UBports.
En attendant, SailfishOS c'est comme #Signal, pas parfait mais largement préférable à la solution dominante.
D'ailleurs y'a un solide client Signal non officiel pour #SailfishOS : #Wisperfish (soutenu par la NLnet et le NGI). J'en reparlerai.

È davvero una meraviglia che con il mio #fairphone3+ che ha 5 anni posso provare tante custum rom in poco tempo. Basta un pomeriggio libero e faccio un giro fra #ubuntutouch, #lineage, #iode ed #eOS. Cosi vedo a che punto sono e come funzionano. Questa volta è di nuovo e/OS a rimanere sul cellulare. Poi, appena installata la 3.2 A15, ecco, l'update alla 3.3. Quand on a un Fairphone 4 (ou 5) on a le choix entre 6 OS :
- l'AOSP bleu nommé FairphoneOS
- /e/OS / Murena (avec pré-installation et support commercial)
- l'AOSP turquoise nommé LineageOS
- SailfishOS (mais sans support commercial)
- Ubuntu Touch / UBports (avec émulation des appli Android)
- PostmarketOS (comme le signal @frox)

@stiller_leser @w269 Super, c'est plus avancé que je ne le pensais.
En fait visiblement SailfishOS est fonctionnel à quelques bugs près sur FP2, FP4 et FP5, mais sans support commercial, ni accès aux applications Android pour le moment.
Par contre quelqu'un a glissé dans ce thread qu'on peut installer Ubuntu Touch sur un Fairphone 4 et y faire tourner des appli Android via l'émulateur #waydroid.
Ravi de ré-entendre parler d' #UbuntuTouch. Se serait une très bonne solution. #UBports
