Hoy se abre la convocatoria de becas de Colegios del Mundo Unido (CMU en español, UWC en inglés). Se trata de becas para estudiantes que estén cursando ahora 4º de ESO o 1º de Bachillerato, para cursar durante dos años el Bachillerator Internacional en uno de los 18 colegios internacionales, repartidos por todos los continentes, de la organización.
Yo estudié en el de Noruega (UWC Red Cross Nordic College) y además de una oportunidad única fue una experiencia inolvidable. Si conocéis a alguna persona en situación de solicitar estas becas y con inquietudes e interés por conocer otras culturas y asumir estar 2 años fuera estudiando en inglés, por favor hacédselo llegar.

El otro día os comenté que salía la convocatoria de los #CMU (#UWC en inglés) para becas y plazas de bachillerato internacional en uno de los colegios. Yo cursé mis dos años en Noruega, y la verdad es que cuesta explicar de que va el tema. Por suerte y desgracia, los CMU tuvieron una exposición en los medios por la plaza concedida en Gales (Atlantic College) a la princesa Leonor y a su hermana.
Me jodería que con lo que se quede la gente es con esa anécdota cuando cada año miles de estudiantes son seleccionados para lo que en mi opinión es una gran oportunidad y una experiencia única.

So, an #introduction (1/2). My name is Mayo. I live in New York City; I studied in Copenhagen, grew up in London, and databases consider me German. Cities make more sense to me than countries. I've studied in a 12th century castle (#UWC) and on a 60s brutalist campus, and spent part of my childhood living on a boat. I wear almost exclusively black. I have way too many tabs open.
Going back to the office after a 16-day work-related trip to #southafrica where I was shown so much generosity and intellectual fireworks at the #UWC #WinterSchool. I need to write about the experience and the ways that it changed my perceptions and right now it’s a blur and all I recall are the light, the mountains, the whirl of kindness and coffee and ideas. #Humanitiesresearch centres are amazing places.
