I have taken up weaving, something I thought I would forever leave to others. Iâm collecting all of the craft techniques and weaving just wasnât my style. To slow, to methodical.
Band weaving, yes! Small scale tapestry, maybe. But like, real big loom action? Nah. But I just finished my first self drafted half fill costume fabric and Iâm hooked.
Yes, thereâs a mistake in the middle. But Iâm going to be making it into a bodice, where the mistake will disappear into the garment piecing. Yes the process was long and slow, but shuttling on a good day is better than deep breathing meditation. Iâve never been so satisfied with the state of things.
I guess Iâm a weaver too now. So I am become a creator of fabrics.
