I've finished the V1 of The Traveller, one shot and a big chunk of The Lost Bay RPG, which kind of establishes as a baseline.
Lots of things to tweak, the baseline!, the NPC blocks, alignements etc, but I'll leave it for now, I'm moving on to the rules part of the book

I'm using some kind of typographic visual code on double page spreads, to highlight good/evil "stuff", and I might use it also on single pages. Start/end of lines need fine-tuning but I kind of like it. It fits the theme.

Yesterday layout work was focused on putting together a style sheet to get a birdseye view on the major styles used throughout the module. Which is obviously easy to do using css.
Also helps me spot what needs to be tweaked.

I had little time to do layout today. I'm not sure why, but I obsessed over minute details of unordered lists. When I do layout, I oscillate between working on details and on structure. Switching from one aspect to the other is particularly easy when working with CSS.

And yeah, this is looking increasingly like a 90s CRT PC monitor. It's not entirely voluntary. I just found myself doing that. I think I'll stick with this and probably push it a bit.

Herre's my daily WIP web to print experiments (text is full markdown + CSS)

I'll let this sit for a couple of days before refining it

Last Wednesday, my fellow XPUB1 classmates and me wrapped up the trimester with a collective folding, binding, and paginating party to make A_Mazing Machine[s]: Wordscapes to Liberate Language, the printed publication of our Special Issue 28!

My first few months at @xpub have been incredible. I am so proud of my classmates, the work we did together, and what we learned. I am also very grateful to our tutors, who have been super kind and inspiring!

All information, plus a PDF of the printed version, made with WeasyPrint is available on this Eleventy website we created to share all the things that we explored. It mirrors our incredible, legendary wiki. It was very interesting and insightful, so I published my notes about Using MediaWiki as a CMS for Eleventy.

@vasilis Within the context of a paged.js driven publishing, you may use `string-set`, like here: ateliers.esad-pyrenees.fr/stol.
That’s a shame we cannot access this within a normal web page (or even in straight css print, since browsers never implemented it properly).

Happy to receive my copy of the latest Azimut (“Graphisme(s) : transmettre aujourd'hui les gestes, les outils, les pensées, les pratiques” ,numéro 59), . In it, @luh2203 and I have written a summary of our teaching experience, teaching web to print in different contexts. We'll let you know when the article is available online. #webtoprint #transmission #graphicdesgin
