ich habe mir #wezterm nun angeschaut.
es gefällt mir. es löst (mir) aber nur probleme die ich bereits geräteübergreifend per #tmux gelöst habe. kommt in die #empfehlungsliste.

We (royal we) are trying #wezterm again. I am so sick of running tmux inside of Alacritty. I wanted to try Tabby, but I already have enough instances of Electron running, so hard pass there.

I don't know when it was added but you can press Ctrl-Shift-P to get a command menu (as in VSCode). It would be nice if the command menu responded to mouse clicks but it's better than nothing.

The last time I tried, #wezterm does not enable font shaping for Indic fonts out of the box, despite using haffbuzz. Should it be enabled via config ?

There are many things I appreciate about #WezTerm by @wez, today it is remembering that it has over 700 colour schemes built-in https://wezterm.org/config/appearance.html

Tentatively planning on streaming tonight, in about 5 hours. Will continue to work on a bug in #Ghostty.

If I can finish that tonight I plan to track down a bug in @rockorager’s ourio library on macOS, and maybe pick up my OSC22 (mouse pointer shape) support PR in #WezTerm again.

@wez I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Good on you for sharing the experience without giving oxygen to the drama.

BTW, #wezterm is my default terminal, and I love it.

Not sure how other wezterm users handle this, but I have this bash alias in my rc file:

alias tab='wezterm cli set-tab-title'

so that I can just do tab name-of-tab instead of needing to the full command I'll never remember. I then build on this with other aliases like:

• alias home='tab home-pc && ssh -p2222 me@home-pc'
• alias cinfra='tab infra && cd ~/projects/infra && git status

These help me keep my terminal clean each time I create a tab to do something completely unrelated to my previous workspace. I have some for authenticating to various cloud providers for my clients as well, so I remember where I'm authed to and what I was doing.

eldritch 'feels' similar, but with more vivid colours. enjoying the change so far.

Gave replacing #tmux with the #wezterm multiplexer a shot. Got a promising replica of my tmux setup running, but due to some jankiness I went back to tmux.

Bummer. It appears that #wezterm's shell integration doesn't play nice with #starship on Windows at all.

For every character I type it generates a \n.

Thus endeth my @nushell / #starship explorations :)

@positivedinosaur Nothing really... I switched to #wezTerm and for some unknown reason, I checked other fonts... 🤷‍♂️

Also #wezterm is pretty cool (I'm finally trying to move away from #kitty and I'm not vibing with #ghostty) but the fact that it doesn't ship with a man page irritates me more than I'd like

@deanfx #WezTerm is what I finally settled on. Feels like neovim of the terminal world. I like fiddling with config and scripting. If I wanted simpler config I would choose ghostty.
