Another annoying reminder for people to remember to make backups. External hard drives are not that expensive and either write your own backup script or find a good open source backup solution will save you a lot of pain when (not if) you lose data.

For Windows, my solution is a script I wrote using #DOS BATCH and #XCOPY. Simple and it works. I still have to do a script for the UNIX machines as right now I just open the file manager and drag to the external drive. I prefer doing this as the files are not in a proprietary format and can be read by Windows, Linux and Android.
