Add 'ing' for Standard Messaging by XMS?

We have language for "text, email, post, or call me". We do not say: "SMTP, activitypub, telephony, or #XMPP me".

'XMS' is easier to say than XMPP, but acronyms rarely enter a language. So we can say "I prefer standard messaging". "Where should I send the invitation"? Or; "Please send me a chat or voice message with #xms".

(@praveen, I think 'standard' is better than ''system' for 'XMS; eXtensible Messaging Standard'.)

@praveen #XMS sounds good to me and can also be considered as short for #XMPP Messaging Service.

I'm proposing we start using #XMS (eXtensible Messaging System) as a shorter version of #XMPP. This would be easier to remember as similar to SMS/MMS. What do you think about it?

Does anyone have a himem.sys or similar XMS driver that works with the ROM-DOS on the Nokia Communicator 9000/9110/9110i? I need a method to access the memory above 1M from DOS.

Sometimes i feel like i should set the record straight on #Intel 80286 extended memory modes.

#Vogons has a pretty good table on them. 80286 is a 16-bit #CPU with 24-bit address space accessed through 4(!) different methods below with each having its own pros and cons. #DOS #Emulator development is hardcore:
