Pro-Tipp für Fans von Monkey Island:

Installiert ihr euch das Spiel in einer echten DOS-Umgebung oder einem PC-Emulator, denkt immer daran, die neueste Version der MONKEY.EXE zu verwenden. Interpreter Version 5.0.19 deaktiviert, ganz offiziell und ohne jeden Crack, den Kopierschutz und startet direkt in das Spiel. Außerdem wurden nebenbei auch noch ein Haufen Fehler und Abstürze behoben. 😉

Setting up a virtual Compaq Deskpro 386/25 using yesterday's boot diskette and the latest 86Box. I added a 25MHz 386 CPU, a 387 co-processor, 4megs of RAM, VGA graphics as well as 315MB of disk space.

So far, everything works. This is fun! 😃

Ich weiß, es gab auch damals schon viel bessere Datei-Manager als die gute, alte DOS-Shell. Hab sie als Kind in MS-DOS 5.x/6.x aber wohl so oft verwendet, dass ich in DOS einfach nichts anderes benutzen mag. Und die DOSSHELL Version in PC DOS 2000 ist sogar noch ein bisschen weiterentwickelt. Also ich oute mich mal als Fan! 😉

Es hat mich tatsächlich über ein Jahr beschäftigt, aber ab sofort ist das IBM Betriebssystem PC DOS 2000 mit vollständigem, deutschem Handbuch komplett im Internet Archive abrufbar. Das sind insgesamt 686 Seiten in 300dpi, sauber gescannt und digital restauriert.

Bei PC DOS 2000 handelte es sich um die letzte offizielle Vollversion von DOS aus dem Jahre 1998, bereits mit sämtlichen Y2K Updates. Voll kompatibel zu Windows 3.x und Spielen für MS-DOS!
