Does anyone here know if there's a utility I can use with:
- a 1571 drive
- a ZoomFloppy interface card
- Apple II disks

to create disk images of Apple II 5.25 inch floppies?

Reason: I do not have a PC 5.25 drive, and also cannot currently come up with a solution involving the Duo drives and Floppy Emu that will work together to back up the disks I have on the Apple II itself.

Playing around with the #Commodore #C128. First writing a #CPM disk from the D71 image with the ingenious #ZoomFloppy and then boot from the 1571 in CP/M+. Now I just have to display the 80-character mode somehow comfortably...

Wanted to do some stuff with my ZoomFloppy but after becoming partial to Rust, I really, really don't want to do it in C++.

So I've started to port a subset of OpenCBM from C++ to Rust. Only targeting XUM1541 support - for now anyway.

The heavy USB lifting is done by rusb which presents a nice Rust interface to the behemoth that is libusb.

We'll see where this goes, but some good progress getting as far as initializing the device, querying its state and executing a Reset to the connected drive, over the IEC bus.

The main issue with the Commodore 8050 and 8250 drives is: How do you get data onto them? The units use 100tpi floppy drives that are incompatible to the regular 48tpi and 96tpi disk drives used in the 1541 and in PC DD and HD drives.

This is the best thing ever for cleaning 5.25" floppy disks. I can't remember where I got it from but it allows you to rotate the disk while cleaning the surface with a Q tip or (what I use) an IPA medical swab.

Without doubt the #ZoomFloppy is one of the best purchases I've made for my #C64 disk archiving.
