I've been writing a book!
_The Book of Japanese Folklore: An Encyclopedia of the Spirits, Monsters, and Yōkai of Japanese Myth_ will be published by Adams Media in the Spring of 2024.
It's a who's who of 45 of these darling Japanese beasties.

On a weird walk the other day (kept seeing owl statues* and tiny dead animals in the street**), I ran across a house that had these lovelies proudly displayed on the top of their front gate. I'm guessing kid art. The Kaiju was very nice 👍💯
*I've never seen an owl statue or figurine outside a house ever before. I saw two!
**Heartbreaking. Saw baby bird and rat...again, I've never seen tiny dead animals on my walk before😢

Imagine sinking your teeth into a cumulus cloud. Silky, chilled sweet potato mash perfectly complimented by a hefty dollop of (non sweetened) fluffed cream; white bread adds a pleasant chewy wrapping that holds it all together until the airy magic disappears.
