I feel that, during this holiday season, it is important to remind people of the true meaning of Christmas: ghosts terrorising wealthy people in the middle of the night until they agree to pay their employees a fair wage.
The kids who think it's fun to be cruel to others grow into adults who think it's fun to be cruel to others.
And they don't make friends—they make victims and accomplices.
"Boys will be boys" is what got us incels, school shooters, big tech, and the current state of politics.
To recap:
•White supremacists terrorized Black and Indigenous people for 300 years.
•And when that terror was finally made illegal, white rebel groups rose up to further terrorize Black and Indigenous people another 100 years.
•And now, while 0 reparations were paid to remedy that 400 years of violence, teaching about that history is called a “terror threat by Antifa.”
