It looks like I turned that off already, but it didn't work. (I think I put in the alt-f1 custom shortcut when I turned off the meta only one.)
This is the right place and correct shortcut, right?

I wonder if this vulnerability was responsibly disclosed?
Disclosed publicly about 2 weeks ago. Still no patch (according to news reports - I don't use WordPress).
The vulnerability is very serious (perfect score of 10.0!), yet should be easy to fix - file type checking was explicitly turned off. Could the fix be as simple as turning it back on?
#k-12 school year for teachers ended last week. My year ends tomorrow. New term of #AdultESOL / #AdultESL starts (for me) on Saturday.
#CyberSecurity class started last week. So far, so good. Pretty interesting. For this #CollegeCreditPlus program, I have to do 1 class in the fall, 2 in the spring, and the final one next summer. While working 60 hours a week. Not looking forward to that spring term at all.
Luckily, I've listened to #SecurityNow with @SGgrc for over 10 years.
maybe not favorite, but a huge quality-of-life tweak:
xinput to switch mouse buttons for left hand, independently of other mice on the system - for some reason, (last I looked) only #XFCE had this option in a GUI.
most impactful: switching to #dvorak layout
(I also considered editing the code and re-compiling #Firefox with #emacs keyboard shortcuts. Maybe this summer.)
@mhoye Rebinding caps lock to control. For some reason it’s one of the biggest keys on the keyboard but aside from this hack I never use it
My fellow nerds: a question about your personal machines:
What is your favourite quality-of-life tweak you've made to your system?
An alias? A utility, a setting, something in .bashrc or ~/bin?
I'd like to know.
Oh, FFS — And, just think about when they use this in female slavery states (which is what we should totally start referring to red states as, btw) to hunt down women trying to get to safe blue states for medical care:

Where’s the best “affordable” online place to learn #cybersecurity / #infosec these days? In a capacity that could get me a job. Not just hobby level tutorials.
Thanks. I've not found anything about an update, and honestly, I'll probably switch to a "better" (aka more expensive) monitor next to see if it is an issue with the monitor itself.
Thanks. There are some lines in the logs that show the driver crashing, but not sure if it is because the monitor has disappeared or if the monitor disappeared because the driver crashed. Also not sure if there are crash logs for each "no signal" instance.
No problems on the previous monitor (1920x1080). New monitor crashed even with nothing intensive, but maybe 3440x1440 at 100Hz (i think) is intensive enough?
Will try lower refresh rates next week (busy this weekend).
Thanks, but not sure what you mean by hotswapped?
Display works fine for random amount of time, then suddenly disconnects. Sometimes while I'm using, sometimes when I come back to it after a while and it has crashed.
Maybe should try booting with
amdgpu.gfxoff=0 amdgpu.runpm=0 amdgpu.aspm=0
Or set monitor to stay around 60Hz?
Maybe bug with AMDGPU drivers and high resolution screens at high refresh rates?
Arg. issues with losing signal with the new monitor. might maybe be power supply issues causing the #AMDGPU driver to crash? Or it crashes after the system loses the connection to the monitor? Supposedly (according to #MicroCenter folk) a better monitor will fix it. Seems unlikely, but psu should be solid, so ??
no probs with old monitor. new monitor, random "no signal". but old=1920x1080, new=3440x1440.
Cables fine. DP / HDMI - happens with both.
Thoughts?
