Saw this beauty at Chester Zoo a while back... very dramatic!

Three toads rescued from freezing in the dry pond. Should we try to a) bury them somewhere below the frost line, or b) overwinter them inside?

I believe they are Canadian Toads (Anaxyrus hemiophrys).

Any toad-keeping advice welcome!

Update: despite some initial enthusiasm to keep them inside over winter, we decided to let them do their normal winter thing (we gave them a bit of a headstart by digging a small hole for them).

Pheidole bicarinata big-headed ants tend to aphids on the underside of a fern in Indiana Dunes National Park. The ants are supposed to protect the aphids, but they seem to have missed a ladybird beetle larva snacking through the herd.
