I've encountered my first truly annoying #godot #bug. The more I dig, the more confused I get. After I added a shader with a `uniform float` parameter to a Sprite2D, a black-and-white version of the sprite flashes over the entire screen for like 1 frame when the scene is loaded. After that it works as it should. Can't find anyone else mention this problem, and chatgpt quickly starts hallucinating.

Moving away from proprietary software is especially difficult for artists, since many of us are trapped within the #adobe ecosystem.

This is why I find #LGM2025 so exciting and hopeful!

Thankfully the organizers have made the conference videos available outside of #evilcorp #youtube etc to #peertube

Normalise being a sleepy boy. Taking a nap. Entering an eternal dreamless slumber. Letting the eons pass unnoticed. Becoming timeless. Waking only when the last stars are cold, and all is silence.

In May, Cissie Gool House was struck by a fire, destroying an entire section and displacing dozens of residents. To assist the residents in this difficult time, we have organised OCCUPY!, a fire relief fundraiser for Cissie Gool House. All funds raised will go to the residents.

Cissie Gool House is located in what was formerly the old Woodstock Hospital. The abandoned building was occupied in 2017, a response to the growing housing crisis in the City of Cape Town, exacerbated by the ongoing gentrification project. Most of the residents were forcefully removed from their homes in the Woodstock and Salt River area. The occupation represents a refusal from the residents to be relocated to the outskirts, a refusal for their histories and heritage to be erased. The occupants have turned this abandoned building into a home, housing around 1000 residents. It is an important site of resistance, a demand for the right to the city. A site of community building, home-making and care. Occupation is not criminal. It is a response to a systemic challenge, where the lack of affordable housing pushes the working class to the outskirts.

The fundraiser will be held on the 13th of June at The Armchair Theatre in Observatory. We have an INCREDIBLE evening planned, with a night market, acoustic and ambient sets and five bands.

@kaasbaas I'm all blank all the time. While reading i build a spatial realm of memories all based on the words, neither sound nor vision. If i read too slowly, i lose coherence and fall out of the spell. I also have very bad recall of stories beyond a general sketch.

After an insanely long, complex road, UNHCR has relocated one of our passengers to an EU country. Hanif, a trans man from Egypt, was imprisoned there on bogus terrorism charges, mostly for being trans.
After release we feared if we extracted him police would torture his mother to obtain his whereabouts. So we moved him and his mother to Kenya to Eden House. When EH was attacked we took a group to Tanzania, then on to Lebanon.

Dozens are killed and wounded daily from Israeli shells, missiles, drones, bombs and bullets. They lack clean water, medicine and food. They have reached a point of collapse. Sick. Injured. Terrified. Humiliated. Abandoned. Destitute. Starving. Hopeless.

In the last pages of this horror story, Israel is sadistically baiting starving Palestinians with promises of food, luring them to the narrow and congested nine-mile ribbon of land that borders Egypt. Israel and its cynically named Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), allegedly funded by Israel’s Ministry of Defense and the Mossad, is weaponizing starvation. It is enticing Palestinians to southern Gaza the way the Nazis enticed starving Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto to board trains to the death camps. The goal is not to feed the Palestinians. No one seriously argues there is enough food or aid hubs. The goal is to cram Palestinians into heavily guarded compounds and deport them.

What comes next? I long ago stopped trying to predict the future. Fate has a way of surprising us. But there will be a final humanitarian explosion in Gaza’s human slaughterhouse. We see it with the surging crowds of Palestinians fighting to get a food parcel, which has resulted in Israeli and U.S. private contractors shooting dead at least 130 and wounding over seven hundred others in the first eight days of aid distribution. We see it with Benjamin Netanyahu’s arming ISIS-linked gangs in Gaza that loot food supplies. Israel, which has eliminated hundreds of employees with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), doctors, journalists, civil servants and police in targeted assassinations, has orchestrated the implosion of civil society.'
