Hello #Fediverse! 👋

I’m currently working on a new project: cupertino.social - a future home for the Apple community here on the decentralized web.

I’m building this because I believe we need a space that combines the elegance of the Apple ecosystem with the ethical soul of the Fediverse. A place for those who love the "Unix heart" of their devices and value privacy as a fundamental right.

We are currently "under construction," fine-tuning the infrastructure (strictly European-hosted and independent!) to ensure a smooth, clean, and respectful experience.

Stay tuned for the official launch post soon. I can’t wait to share this journey with you all.

@ZDF Nein. Hab mich von Anfang an über die geärgert.
Und darüber, dass die App im App Store immer ganz oben angezeigt wird. So als wäre sie besonders "beliebt" (den Hinweis "Ad" kann man leicht übersehen).

Oh, ich glaube ich habe eine gute Idee, wie man technisch unbedarften Personen den Unterschied zwischen #Fediverse und META/X/Google erklären kann.

Die zuletzt genannten sind das Einkaufszentrum am Stadtrand. Alles an einem Ort aber nur eine Tür um rein zu kommen und die Innenstadt stirbt aus.

Das Fediverse ist die lebende, atmende Innenstadt mit vielen verschiedenen Geschäften, netter Fußgängerzone und ganz vielen Zugängen.

LibreWriter 26.2 erscheint im Februar. Habe gerade RC 2 getestet.

Sehr schön:
Markdown-Import ist nun vorhanden und klappt auch gut. (Funktioniert in Collabora Desktop schon länger.)

Bei Internetausfall hat man das ganze Wissen als Backup für ein paar GByte (sogar am Handy möglich):

The most annoying thing about corporate surveillance to me is the arrogance of the prediction mechanisms.

These algorithms build a model of me based on my clicks from three years ago and then try to trap me in that loop forever. They show me music they think I'll like, and news they think I'll engage with, and videos they think will enrage me enough to keep me hooked to their platforms. They are actively trying to flatten my personality into something easy to monetize.

As most people I've seen say out loud, "Privacy as a concept is way beyond hiding secrets. A part of it also means preserving your capacity to change. To be surprised. To be inconsistent."

If I could tell every human one thing, it would be to actively refuse to be a predictable data point. Mess up their metrics. In whatever way you are capable of.
