I can't use Firefox because of AI and privacy not the default anymore.
I can't use LibreWolf because it's based on Firefox and lots of default values are broken.
I can't use Chromium because it's mainly controlled by Google.
I can't use Brave because it's just a cryptocurrency browser and crypto doesn't have to be there.
I can't use Vivaldi because it's not free software and it's also based on Chromium.
What can I use?

Mastodon isn't perfect.
But the fact a social network exists that is completely free to use
has no venture capital investors
has no shareholders to answer to
has no growth targets
with a web interface with zero tracking cookies
and mobile apps with zero trackers at all
with ten thousand server administrators who donate their time for user safety
is - in my opinion - mindbogglingly cool, given the state of the world we live in. Not everything has to be shit. People make things better.
The new #Obsidian web viewer plugin is 10/10.
Downloaded #OSMand today, we'll see how that works locally.
Although government institutions here use Open Maps, so I think it'll be fine, already discovered much more detailed trail maps than Google (wish I'd known that before) and I can pre-map a route with it, like #MapmyRun and save the #GPX file to my phone, then export to my watch...so that's really handy, but best of all the Gulf of Mexico is, and always will be the Gulf of Mexico!
