for anyone interested, this was a glaze called khan blue all over, and then an overlap of a matt glaze called stone blue - if you've seen my other pottery, you might remember it from some of my bowls! it looks completely unrecognisable here, but it's absolutely beautiful! I'm so pleased with it!

a round small jar with the lid next to the body of the jar, on top of a white duvet with blue patterns. The body of the jar is slightly wider at the base than the rim. The jar is glazed in a deep blue with a lot of variation in the glaze. It is lighter at the bottom and darker on top. The lid has a round knob and is is glazed the same. Both have bare clay where the lid and body overlap, without any glaze - around the rim and top of the inside of the body, and around the bottom of the lid.

Folks, a while ago I discovered a clever form of #knitting called illusion or shadow knitting.

It’s where a pattern is formed by stitches that only appear when viewed at a certain angle. It sounds complicated, but it’s just a combination of basic knit and purl stitches.

Anyway, I thought I’d do a quick test and I made this maple leaf and I must admit, I love how it turned out!

I think I might have a go at making a larger piece that can be viewed from the side, so I can hang it somewhere in the house.

I've been thinking a lot recently (always a bad sign/j), and I've been wanting to find some people who are aro-ace and what they 'do' socially and living-wise in their 30s/40s. Let's say I don't live with a partner but I also don't want to live alone, what do you do?
I really like it when a house feels _alive_, and honestly besides the nuclear family I haven't seen anyone live the way I'd like to live.

Do you have any experience with that, do you have friends or family who live less conventionally now that they live alone. Do you have similar yearnings or desires?

pro tip: if you see someone who goes by it pronouns, neopronouns or anything that isn't just "they/them, she/her, he/him" and they also have "normal" pronouns such as they/them... you should refer to them using it pronouns or their neopronouns. it'll make their day, a lot of people are only really referred to by the "normal" pronouns and it's rare for them to be addressed as it or xe.

I'm very much still learning Amigurumi, so this time, it was about practicing with smaller yarn. Which I prefer to the Velvet yarn, as I can actually see the stitches. :D
