We took the girls to a local park a week or so ago. They loved it, though there's no off-leash dog part here for them. Hoping to find and visit a dog park soon.

20 plus 4x4 square photo prints are laid out atop a honey-gold desk. The people in the photos are a man, a woman. Sometimes, they pose together or with a pet. Sometimes it's only one of them in the photo. Several of the photos are black and white or sepia while others are in color.

This is actually just a great example of how I often take multiple photos at a time, seeking the best angle possible & end up with additional "treasures". Also, happy CATURDAY everyone!!

At the beginning of March, I was gifted a basket full of yarn skeins. I crochet as well as draw, so this is perfect. I wanted to commemorate the moment with a little sketch of yarn. I love how the sketch turned out! It's one of my favorites from this month.

I didn't draw it true to any skein of yarn in the basket given me. In fact, I don't think there was any green yarn in the basket. But this drawing was fun because I took something real and reimagined it in a very small way. This style is very me... it's where I'm most confident. It makes me happy because I can also see notes of how far my art has come as I've practiced & also as I've been reading more about art.

Lately, I've been practicing drawing from photos I've taken. Drawing my pets is sometimes difficult -- it definitely shows me where I need to do more work. Like here. Definitely need to pay more attention to light and shadow and how they work on cloth items. Also, I was too chicken to even attempt the stripes of her brindling. Pepper is so cute sleeping like that. The pillow is my spouse's & he's her favorite person.

I bought this cute bee house for pollinators last year, but as we were living in an apartment, I ended up unable to set it up there. My dad picked a spot on his hen house to hang it and put the nail up for me. We think it looks so cute there & it's next to the garden, too.

For his most recent birthday, my dad got an incubator to raise his own chickens from hatch to henhouse. He's been delighted with the results and having so much fun with his chickens. They keep him busy, and sometimes, the baby chicks keep us laughing... especially this first one with the grump arse glare.
