Linux on mobile: PinePhone is now upgradeable with more RAM & storage!
Linux on mobile is getting more and more delightful on alternative devices; the new boards offer 3GB of on-board memory and 32GB of flash storage. This is up from the 2GB/16GB combo offered on the original and early-doors handsets.
Newer versions of the PinePhone, including those sold with postmarketOS, Ubuntu Touch and Manjaro.
PinePhone is also up for more security than any stock android device.
Elive Linux
You've probably not heard about this user friendly and aesthetic, very lightweight yet very pretty Linux distribution?
Meant primarily for older computers / Elive is based on Debian and is offering some adorable bling-bling through its Enlightenment desktop environment / Cairo dock amongst other things such as fancy sound effects. Of course Elive is suitable for a modern system just as well!
The Elive crew's work in progress is a 64 bit edition / a new stable release for it: they need help now in means of donations (or in form of reviews to give Elive more publicity).

PeerTube is getting an overhaul +about to get a whole lot functional with great features, in freedom. PeerTube needs about 12k more to reach that €60,000 / Live streaming feature according to their milestones!
So, a free as in freedom decentralized video sharing +soon possibly even livestreaming platform. Many instances to choose from to your liking or content. The fine developers of Framasoft have a roadmap for version 3.0 of PeerTube which includes all the things one needs to start ditching the evil Youtube of Google.

Ron Gilbert (the creator of The Secret of Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, Thimbleweed Park, etc.) is switching to Linux!
The legendary game developer writes:
"my goal is to see how far I can get developing my new game on directly on Linux and not the Mac (I haven't developed on Windows in years). Can I ditch the Mac and go 100% Linux?".
He was on macOS previously and wants to transition to Linux (on a Dell XPS 13 running Ubuntu Budgie flavor) entirely for game development as he finds "Apple locks it down more and more and it feels less and less like my computer" (see one of his comments below the second post).
Windows apparently is out of the question altogether.
Gilbert's blog now already consist three Linux related posts.

The DXVK developer: DXVK is "entering maintenance mode" no significant changes to the code.
DXVK is a Vulkan-based compatibility layer for Direct3D 11. It allows running Windows only 3D applications on Linux using Wine.
Part of the reason stated by himself: "Most of the 1.4.x releases introduced major regressions which I cannot reproduce, and therefore cannot debug and fix..."
Doitsujin is handling this project quite alone! He needs help and resources.
Valve, please: hire him full-time so he can refactor, assign manpower and so forth to lower the workload and stress. To make DXVK even more amazing.
For the record: gaming on Wine + DXVK is often more reliable than say, native Windows gaming.

These are not recommended for use to start with, as the goal is user freedom, but these definitely help Linux adoption.
