@asterisco @Em0nM4stodon @keepassxc I've been using that for years now. One of the first things I did after setting up... How did you miss that?

@tommi @debian @frameworkcomputer Did the same a few days ago. I botched my btrfs in an encrypted LVM and had to do the subvolumes manually, but apart from that I'm loving it. However, it's exactly what I expected, as my servers run Debian and I have been on Debian derivatives for a few years now.

Currently looking to become a Debian contributer, and will reach out to the Debian rust team once my registration on salsa.debian.org is through.

@jerry this is why I usually listen to audiobooks. Nothing can fall on me, and I don't even have to keep my eyes open. Plus, an amazing voice actor is reading the characters in different voices.

Can anyone recommend a good guide for setting up a Malware lab on Linux? I assume it's more complicated than just getting some windows iso from MS and installing it. Are malware labs usually windows based?

I'd prefer libvirt/qemu and not part of my real LAN. My homeserver runs proxmox, but perhaps putting it on there would not be optimal?

EDIT: This one seems rather sophisticated, so I'll try that. Don't worry if your Browser screams that Google Safe Browsing thinks this is potential badware, it's just a guide to setting up a lab and a static site.

@debian I just recently migrated my homeserver from Debian 12 with just docker to a proxmox cluster (which is really just Debian 12 too).

Makes sense that they support Debian, as their image is based on it. Very cool through!

Djangos Documentation seems to have been down? I've had an http error that I've never had before, nor couldn't really find any proper documentation for:

Does anyone have a documentation for this error, or knows what it is?

The Django doc site switched between this and 502 Bad Gateway.

It seems to be working again now through. Would still be interested in HTTP503 "first byte timeout", I assume it must be non standard.

Does anyone have experience with building an actually useful E-Mail gateway for #proton? I want to use smtp to automate some stuff for my servers and use my typical mail client, even on mobile.

Thinking about using one of the third party OSS to do this, or alternatively changing the IP in the source code of protonbridge.

Interestingly, the guys at #proton forbid from binding access to their gateway to anything but the loopback address, it's hard coded. But luckily their app is OSS, so I could just change that line and it should work.

#proton #ProtonMail #protonbridge

The only thing that I have not yet gotten to work is my jellyfin server. Somehow my phone can't make a working https connection, cURL shows an openssl error, but that's stuff for another day. Maybe It's just a bad config in my reverse proxy?

I was fighting with my VPN Network not working for weeks, Today I tried Tailscale/Headscale and it seems great. Played around with the configs and docker for some time, and now I have a working overlay Network.

That was important to me: It should not be the default network connection but an extension, so that I can access my Homenetwork securely from any other network.

Is there a #NextCloud App for #RSS ? I'd love to have my RSS feeds in my nextcloud server, would be handier than seperate apps on desktop and mobile.

Three days on #mastodon / infosec.exchange and I have:

Switched from #SelfHosting my Mailserver to letting #Proton do that for me.

Ordered 2 Yubikeys (they're in Denmark right now, yes I need two)

Talked into the void and was surprised that the void actually answered back, with useful information even.

Reported a zero day to the it admins of my school, let's hope they fix it

Started a security concept with my friends who also self host for absolute Trust off-site Backups. I trust them after all and they trust me. Add some encryption to that, boom, a highly trusted off site backup that can be restored even when my house burns down and I remember nothing after three months coma. It's not yet fully specified how we wanna do it, but it has potential.

It's all security stuff I'd want to do anyways, but it's a weird coincidence that all of that happened right after I joined infosec.exchange

Btw, are there hashtags for specific instances?
#infosecexchange I guess? And how the hell do I format my text with markdown on the Mastodon mobile app?

I'm currently #selfhosting my #mail server, but I'm getting more paranoid and don't trust myself to keep it fully safe, thinking about switching to #proton and making use of their offer to host email on my custom domain.

Any advice?
