Is running #sway #wayland compositor on #nixos inside a #virt_manager vm on #nixos reliably possible? Computer has #AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics card. Host is running sway. Nixos is 25.05.
Have tried both using virtio and qxl graphics drivers, virt-viewer and remote-viewer, with and without spice-vdgentd/spice-vdagent, but get glitchy displays, random mini-freezes, random mouse pointer movement, mouse point in wrong place (yes am using tablet driver).
#spice spice-vdgentd/spice-vdagent doesn't seem to load automatically under sway. Haven't looked why yet. Can start it manually. Some references say spice will help particularly with qxl. But I get the impression it is legacy(?), and mostly helps with sharing clipboard and screen size, not with stability and reliability of graphics display.
Switched back to X Windows and i3, and everything works flawlesslesly. So maybe I should just give up on sway for now inside the VM?
