Mein WLAN auf 2.4GHz ist nur noch eine Katastrophe. Und 5GHz ist auch zunehmend belegt. Also mal ab Kanal 120 ausprobiert und ja, ist erlaubt/frei. Der obligatorische Check der Fritzbox hat eine Freigabe erteilt 😁

Nun geht das WLAN wieder besser. Die Smart Home Helferlein im WLAN (Steckdosen) prügeln sich nun mit den 10 anderen Haushalten, brauchen sowieso keine geringe Latenz und Bandbreite.

Der Rest flutscht wieder.

Busy day yesterday at two sites for the same customer to extend their network from Lodge & Cottage to a parking area to provide internet access on both cabled and wireless for some EV chargers which they will be fitting
The customer needed the units to blend in and be as hidden as possible, so they were sprayed black and tucked away whilst maintaining line of sight for a high quality 60ghz 1gb link with inbuild backup 5ghz connection

Just finished installing the #Netgear #WiFi 630 6E #AXE7800 and can't say enough how much better my home network is by separating out the 2.4gHz, 5gHz, and #6gHz bands.

Those awful 2.4 devices that can't (won't) do #5gHz go on their separate radio and SSID - no longer causing issues with 5gHz devices bouncing down to 2.4 and never back up to 5.

Also, the 2.5mbps #backhaul of this device is amazing! REALLY helped my #network devices. No more #AppleTV buffering issues, and #iOS devices just FLY!

Lower #5GHz #wifi channels aren't useable because neighbors are doing whatever that completely fucks over the spectrum.

Channel 100 and up gets constantly kicked because #radar detection goes ding ding ding.

If I could I would buy a #wifi6e Router because nobody here is using 6E (guess why) according to my phone and me going around in the neighborhood.

Update: gave up and now going to try some #smartplug which explicitly advertises support for #5ghz. Sigh.

Looks like Windows 10 by default is not going to detect or connect to 5GHz WiFi. Manajro on the same machine works fine, but Windows 10 is more than 10x slower.

You need to manually force the WIFI adapter to use a different mode, because automatic means 2.4 GHz only. 🤦‍♂️👏🤦‍♀️
