Feeling excited to have finally banished the fossil gas connection from our home.
We're fortunate to have been able to install solar panels and an air-source heat pump. Now, with the removal of the ageing and probably dangerous gas hob (stove), we can finally say goodbye to gas and with it a significant source of indoor air pollution and methane emissions.

It must be getting drier out there as even so it's cold (as in sub zero temperatures) outside my shed office #AirSourceHeatPump has not done the defrost cycles overnight. The previous few nights it's done a few each night.
Finally got an #AirSourceHeatPump installed, after many false starts and a fair bit of #procrastination on my part.
And this morning I deleted my #Twitter / #X accounts and apps so i don't have to put up with #Trump / #Musk sewerage on my timeline anymore.
So, overall, a good week for plumbing improvements.

People seem obsessed with the cost. As it turns out, over its lifetime I’m confident it’ll be at least the same as running as gas boiler with the distinct possibility it’ll be much cheaper.

This is a couple of weeks during April on the Cosy Octopus tariff.
There are 2 low rate sessions when I run my ASHP for hot water or charge my EV.
It’s early days. It’ll be interesting to see how I’m doing in May, but overall this is a promising start.

Last week we had an #AirSourceHeatPump #heating & hot water system installed to replace the gas boiler. We're snug at last. No more gas!
All new buildings should have these & I wish there were tax incentives to fit these in all homes.
The electricity used to power it comes (partly) from our #SolarPV panels. We're getting there...

And we have a plinth for the #AirSourceHeatPump.
Obviously won't be _done_, but feels like it might be something we can live in by Christmas! 🤞
