@autumnstuff I have now realized that #GrapheneOS is not about 100% #DeGooglization (unlike #pmOS), not about GNU's #GPL-only lisences, but about #security, sandboxing, #antitracking and #privacy Half of preinstalled apps are the same as on stock Android (inc. keyboard, messages, phone, calculator etc - only open-sourced #AOSP) - so, they remind me Google stuff. It is not bad - any team has limited resources, and I accept that it is better to put them forward the supreme goal of privacy.

We are always trying to understand how we can better control our privacy on the internet, and your choice web browser to use is among the most important decisions you can make. We used EFF's "Cover your tracks" website (https://coveryourtracks.eff.org) to compare six different well-known browsers for web tracking and browser fingerprinting.
Tor browser apparently provided the strongest protection against web tracking and contained fingerprinting uniqueness to 1 in about 46k. They try to provide a uniform fingerprint across devices, allow you to hide in a crowd. Brave, on the other hand, takes a different approach. While they provided only some protection against web tracking, but they constantly randomize the fingerprint, providing "very strong" protection against indentification through fingerprinting. We arranged the results in the order that we perceived each browser's privacy benefits.
There was no discernable privacy protection at all with Chrome and Edge browsers.
Our analysis was done on April 18, 2023.
