Lost iPhone Phishing Scam ⚠️
- The Swiss National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is warning iPhone users about a sophisticated phishing scam.
- Scammers are using information from a lost device's lock screen message (model, colour, contact details) to send convincing SMS or iMessage texts, claiming the phone has been found.
- The goal is to trick victims into entering their Apple ID credentials on a fake "Find My" website, allowing attackers to disable Activation Lock and potentially resell the device. Always ignore unsolicited messages and never click links; Apple will not contact you via SMS or email about a found device.

Dangerous runC Container Escape Flaws 🛡️
- Three new vulnerabilities (CVE-2025-31133, CVE-2025-52565, CVE-2025-52881) have been disclosed in runC, the container runtime used by Docker and Kubernetes.
- These flaws could allow an attacker to bypass container isolation and gain root-level write access to the underlying host system, primarily by exploiting issues with bind-mounts and /proc redirection.
- While exploitation requires the ability to start containers with custom mount configurations, organisations should update to runC versions 1.2.8, 1.3.3, 1.4.0-rc.3 or later, activate user namespaces, and consider using rootless containers as mitigation.

There are a lot of posts these days about apps being ready for #macOS #Tahoe, so I will join the parade.
#SmashTunes is ready for Tahoe too! We’ll, for the most part… I was not able to test streaming #AppleMusic music. I could not log in to the music app with my #appleid. Undoubtedly it will work, but I did not read any posts on Apple Music being ready for Tahoe.
I did my testing with a virtual machine on #VirtualBuddy which works great. I’m still reading those Tahoe rapports before jumping.

@theynege I'm glad this shite isn't legal in Germany at all because none of these services comply with medical data protection (#MDSG) or even basic #DataProtection (#GDPR & #BDSG) to the point that #Apple explicitly tells medical professionals they must configure their devices to not use #iCloud, #AirDrop and other features and basically can only use an #AppleID for buying and downloading commercial #Apps from the #AppStore...

Just had a really poor support experience with #Apple
Logging into my #AppleID is possible using a #Passkey - great!
Except: I want to remove the passkey but I can't. Passwords app is showing Passkeys: 0. Now this is fun.
The behavior is reproducible with a fresh test user: login via passkey: yay

So no I am stuck with a passkey which is out of my control but which can be used to log into my AppleID.
In my book that is a serious concern, but Apple doesn't seem to care. They called back and told me they don't have any additional info. Then I never heard back. I also filed this via Feedback and never heard back.
Called them again today and they were not helpful. So what now? Migrating an Apple ID is possible but if you then delete the old Apple ID your tranferred purchases are no longer transferred.
All this feels really bad. This mess drove me to begin using #Linux Mint in my daily work and I am really liking it.
Tying to fix my parents' in law's apple stuff. They cannot access the appstore on their #iphone (running under an appleID), to get an app, because the #appstore app wants an appleID / #apple account #password - which they no longer know. They can log into their #macbook as a user (same appleID) with their mac_book_user_password
Do I understand it correctly:
they can choose a new #appleid #appleaccount password (to a access the appstore etc.) using the mac_book_user_password to #authenticate ?
