Beginning their research in September, they will explore: how AI can become your dance companion; the dynamics of remembering and forgetting in the digital age; and the morphovore as a thought experiment for the post-silicon era.

Riemschneider Lectures: Kathrin Busch

Eros und Wunde. Zur Sensibilität künstlerischen Wissens

Kathrin Busch ist Professorin für Philosophie und Ästhetik an der Universität der Künste, Berlin. Sie hat die Gesellschaft für künstlerische Forschung in Deutschland mitgegründet und das Berliner Programm für künstlerische Forschung auf den Weg gebracht. Außerdem ist sie Präsidiumsmitglied der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ästhetik. Mit Arbeitsschwerpunkten in der französischen Gegenwartsphilosophie und dem Wissen der Künste richtet sich ihr Interesse aktuell auf das epistemische Potential von Verwundbarkeit und Schwäche.

Ihr Vortrag in der Reihe der Riemschneider Lectures zeigt jüngste Verschiebungen im Feld der künstlerischen Forschung auf und fragt nach radikal verletzbaren Wissensformen in der Kunst. In der künstlerischen Forschung, so die Grundthese, geht es auch um eine kritische Arbeit am Wissen selbst. Der Vortrag stellt Positionen vor, die Lust und Schmerz in das Konzept des verkörperten Wissens eintragen. Er folgt dem Einsatz von Sensibilität in einer oft auf Informationskunst reduzierten künstlerischen Forschung in der Annahme, dass sich hier neue Verfahren eines ästhetischen Denkens in der Kunst bilden.

I recently visited Siena, Florence and Tuscany (Calpabio). I loved the cathedral in Siena with magnificent stonework, both in architecture and inlays (stone intarsia). These stripey pillars in stone are so amazing. Jag ser fram emot att prata med studenterna om dessa, och om saker att de tänker på just nu!

Tomorrow I will be a guest teacher at the Masters seminar at KMH. I will be presenting one of the longer pieces from my doctoral project, as well as a performance/presentation I made for another research project, Lethe, at SKH. I'm looking forward to discussing these things with the students there, and finding out what they're thinking about at the current moment!
