These are a set of virtual folders that represent the formats supported by your system to rip them into.

Opus alternative.
Consider Vorbis if your portable device does not support Opus.
Some portable devices support Vorbis but do not support Opus.
Vorbis was replaced by Opus and both are developed by the Xiph.Org Foundation.
After ripping audio CD to FLAC, change the format from FLAC to Vorbis and rip the CD again.

Nachdem ich 1983 in einem Geschäft an Hamburgs Mö die ersten CD Player in Deutschland noch persönlich begrüßt habe, bin ich erstaunt, dass in der taz die Renaissance der #AudioCD angekündigt wird. Ich kann mir das gerade nicht vorstellen. Die Gebrauchtpreise auch für besterhaltene CDs sind jedenfalls im Keller.

Only (recently) released in Japan for some reason and #Discogs blocked selling it. Go figure.
Why were they a big deal? Because they were ridiculously successful, especially in the US. Making money in the US made them a target. Everything was fake all around during and after their time, maybe still the case today to a lesser extent. Even their producer's previous project Boney M was a fake but not successful enough to be a target.
In the end it was just some B.S. from the mass media. The music was good and they were the decor.

Today I finally fixed a portable #CD player that I have since ~2005. And right now I'm listening to one of my favorite CDs from that decade (Let Go, from Avril Lavigne).
Why? Because as much as I like streaming, I like more the feeling of rummaging through my CD collection and choose something physical. Nostalgia? Sure, but the good kind.
