Finally having that moment where someone wants to join Mastodon and I'm torn on telling them to come here or recommending they go to a different instance with more of the #BlindTwitter reach since that's what's prompting them to join. I have no idea how to really determine whether my server is doing well in the fediverse. I'm pulling in hashtagged introduction posts, public posts from most of the instances we're clustered around, and a few other hashtags, but I have a feeling that because the actual user base is so small, the effective list of followed users is also small. And, this is kind of a catch-22 situation I suppose, but at least if people move here, they bring existing followers here too. Ugh, overthinking.
