Mocha rosa and Koko Loko roses. SO pretty! Both of them change colour quite a lot as they open and mature. The koko loko lasts a really long time too compared to other roses who seem to bloom and then are gone in a day or two. #bloomscroll #roses #pinkrose

This is the Koko Loko rose - Such a lovely delicate colour, it gets more lavender coloured as it opens further. Scent isn't strong, but it's gorgeous. I have a Mocha Rosa rose too which is similar. #bloomscroll #kokolokorose #rose #flower

The 2025 garden season in Northwest Philly has officially opened! Here's a walk-through of this year's veggie patch. Please ignore the problematic name of the pepper strain, I didn't name it, "Chef Jeff" did.

A raised bed with dirt and two plants:

* Sweet melon (cucumis Melo)
* Butternut Squash (Cucurbita moschata)

Several plants in a raised outdoor planter:

* Common spearmint
* Dino kale (Brassica oleracea var. palmifolia)
* "Kung Pow" Sriracha peppers (something stupid like 100k Scovilles per pepper)
* Some jalapeno variety called "Big Guy"
* Old kale from last season that is almost entirely flowers. These are good to keep because they are one of the first flowers to open in late February, which is good for bees and pollenators.

Three plants in an outdoor raised planter:

* Popcorn (zea Mays)
* Sweet basil (Ocimum basilcum)
* Pineapple Sage (salvia Eleganis)

Gaahhh How has it taken me 6 springs to notice this tree blooms so beautifully?!?!?!?!?! In my driveway. My freaking driveway!

Lesson of the day, slow down and really, really take in your surroundings. We live in such an incredibly beautiful world! Right here. Exactly where we are!
