I love it when my oversharing turns into me being hyperfixiated on the CNT-FAI in anarchist Spain from 1936 to 1939. Suddenly, I find myself lost in all the details of revolutionary syndicalism and anarchist ideas.
It feels like stumbling into a secret world where people actually tried to live without rulers or bosses. Every little detail just pulls me deeper into this fascinating moment in time.

Mythos and traditions are needed for revolutions to put down roots

How do anarchist/socialist millitaries work?
All communist share a rather simple mantra: NO WAR BUT CLASS WAR.
Yet, when a revolution starts and the government and capital are forced out of significtant territory, the figurative war in form of cops and national guard becomes much more traditional war. Capitalist nations and reactionary regimes sre always quick to invade amy liberated territory and subjugate it by millitary force. Only real resistance is organized armed resistance.
But did various movements do that? This is the topic I am currently looking into.
For example, what made the Black Army in Ukraine so effective? How they organize their brigades and support services? How did the #cntfai Spanish millitias differ? Or, for example, probably the most succsesful anarcho-communist force currently in sction - #ypg #ypj of #Rojava.
The mostly universal principles seem to include:
- Democraticly elected and recallable officers;
- No consription unless in extreme circumstances (Battle of #kobane is an example);
- Soldier-councils;
-Traditional millitary structires (battalions, brigades, logistics etc);
-Full female participation in all combat roles;
-General lack of complex equipment such as airforce or tanks;
-Local support and "living of the land" mentality.
I will talk more about this topic if there is intrest as I continue to research.
Nella Spagna del 1934 la situazione politica e sociale è incandescente.
I rivoluzionari di tendenza libertaria non pensarono esclusivamente alla lotta contro il franchismo, ma si preoccuparono di organizzare le comunità, che incontravano lungo il loro percorso, secondo i principi dell'anarco-comunismo. Nelle zone repubblicane l'economia spagnola veniva gestita “dal basso”, mediante l'attività dei lavoratori organizzati nei sindacati e senza nessun dirigismo autoritario.
Il principio dell'autogestione si applicò seguendo la massima comunista: «Da ognuno secondo le sue possibilità ad ognuno secondo i suoi bisogni», senza che questo determinasse un calo delle produzioni che, al contrario, subirono addirittura un incremento.
