@MadisonMonkey Perhaps, after a repeat bad “Tripledemic” bout this fall/winter, which will have negative effects on both healthcare AND the economy, there will be more incentive for governments and businesses to pay attention to clean air.

They can’t live in denial forever. It’s just unfortunate that scientists and advocates have predicted and warned all along but governments wait to “learn the hard way” first. 🙄

It’s genuinely not controversial to recognise that CO2 monitoring absolutely can have utility, but that it’s utility is context dependent.
It can falsely reassure in underventilated spaces with short duration or low density occupancy, or it can falsely alarm in spaces where non-ventilation interventions are in place (eg filtration).

Good exhibition, although could have wished for better-angled lighting for small fiddly coins. (And brighter — surely they're not at much risk of light damage?)
Used my own phone torch a lot to see inscriptions.

CO₂ levels good, as previously in the Fitz' newer galleries; 8xx ppm with quite a few people about, sometimes down to 5xx ppm.
(Max 7xx ppm in May; then, older spaces were higher, with one exhibition room >1000ppm, and cafe/shop 8xx ppm.)

And several libraries in Canada are loaning #CO2Monitors ! Ottawa had 28 sensors to loan, and 2 days ago more than 600 were on hold. Community support for #IAQ. Hoping US libraries start catching on...

Addenbrooke's Hospital (#Cambridge) outpatients CO₂ was surprisingly high today -- 1585ppm!
Compare to earlier in the year, where levels were pretty low considering -- usually 600-900ppm, even in a small crowded waiting room.
Aircon was definitely on. I guess they aren't letting much outside air in in the cold weather. Hopefully they have good filters.
(Very few people, staff or visitors, still masking.)
