@pavel Great. I expect that in the longer term it should switch to full range scan and sharpness computation only for really large change in statistical parameters. It should try to run some feedback loop to track focus instantaneously with some estimation whether changes are noise only and when change in statistic represent already high probability that sharpness changes. Could be really nice task for some of our #cvut #cvutfel control theory oriented students with combined computer vision knowledge. I am open to supervise such project, bachelor and or master theses.

#CVUTFEL ( #CVUT FEE) Advanced Computer Architecture ( #comparch) course recodings of the first five lectures are published at #VHSky.cz. Czech language recordings from the 2021 round are available as well. The B4M35PAP course builds on the knowledge from the introductory #comparch B35APO course (recordings). Each student builds their own CPU design (tools and ISA are open). The #QtRvSim #RISCV educational simulator is provided for inspiration (online version and The Czech Technical University #comparch related courses guidepost https://comparch.edu.cvut.cz/).

P.S.: Help with tooling for transcribing the lectures in my Czenglish dialect into English subtitles would be appreciated, as well as all other forms of feedback. For the introductory course, we provide reusable LaTeX sources (CC-BY-SA license) that are open to pull requests.

#NuttX Support for IEEE 802.3-2022 10BASE-T1S/L #Ethernet using Open Aliance SPI MAC-PHYs implemented by Michal Matias from #CVUT in frame of #GSoC2025 has been fully merged into NuttX mainline. The common part resides at drivers/net/oa_tc6. #ESP32C6 mapping and mapping for SAVM71-Xplained Ultra are good examples for straightforward extension to other MCU and board NuttX SPI interfaces. The accompanying plcatool for Physical Layer Collision Avoidance parameters configuration matching OA-TC14 specification is another contribution.

I just learned about the HackClub adventure called The trail. Which seems like a lot of fun!
I love hiking and technology.

I went to a wonderful camp from called FEL Camp. The main idea is being there without electricity and we need to generate our own.
We hiked and hacked a lot.

Thanks to FEL camp I've got my hands on a device called Heltec V1.2
I brought it with me to the test in mountains.

We got these after FEL camp. We couldn't get the beaper and public channel working. It turns out it was the android app. The web conf. worked. Should raise an issue on github

I was so excited when I got my first messages from Fatry!
So I brought it with me on hikes around.
It was working but only on mountain peaks though.

@ljs Congratulation to the book publication. I hope to find some time one day and look at it myself or at least, will be able to make it available to my students with help of the #cvut library.

I have plea for you and @vbabka , I prepare for the next round of the Advanced Computer Architectures course. It is focused mainly to basic knowledge about progress from pipelined execution (basic course) to the super-scalar one in nineties to understand even later designs including GPUs, NUMA, etc. But I include even some amateur glimpse how is memory used in real system which is based on my already dated wander through Linux kernel sources. I would be very happy if you find time to look at the diagram on the slide 114 of the Lecture 6 and provide me feedback if there is something which is not true or have been changed considerably so I should correct it to not mislead my students. There are some more slides around where your expert feedback can save students from misleading information as well.

Další „čárku na pažbě“ si mohou poznamenat vědci z ČVUT v Praze. Tamní fakulta elektrotechnická (FEL) vyvinula a tento měsíc otestovala nového taktického robota jménem Helhest. Ten si poradí i v tvrdém terénu rakouských Alp, kde ve výšce přes 2000 metrů nad mořem zvládl černou sjezdovku i pád do potoka.

But if you want really cheap scopes, function generators, counters etc. then the #cvut team from another department provides firmware for cheap STM32, PICO and even Arduino (sic, some people are not willing to move forward and colleagues support them too) boards based Software Defined Instruments. For the PC side, see DataPlotter (github , with Nucleo F303RE 5 Ms/s 12 bit, STM32L412KB 2x 5 Ms/s, with Arduino 15 kS/s, with Raspberry PICO 1x 500 KS/s or 2x 250 kS/s) and older zero_elabviewer for even more boards. All firmware is available for download and documented in theses (unfortunately usually in Czech language, but colleagues or me can help).

DNS4EU promises fast and private DNS resolution for EU citizens, meant as an alternative to countless non-european DNS resolving entities, and is an official project of EU with CZ.NIC and #cvut as partners.
