.. when Centre Point was first built it was an early venture (for London) into speculative building and ended up sitting empty for many years. It was targetted by squatters' movements and housing campaigners as an example of a building that should have been for people not companies.

So, somewhat ironic that many years later it did indeed get converted to apartments.

This history of the building is the reason why the largest charity in the UK working with #homeless people is called #Centrepoint.
