The photo is of a vast area of cracked, grey limestone pavement stretching towards a distant horizon under a clear blue sky. There are patches of sparse, brownish-green vegetation are interspersed throughout the rocky landscape. The rocky landscapes takes up about three fourths of the image with the remainder left for the sky.

And of course, we also watched out for flowers. Among them is Platanthera bifolia (lesser butterfly orchid) in the Burren.

#Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien has officially opened the €88m #Killaloe Bypass project in #Ireland which includes the first new vehicular bridge over the #Shannon in over 30 years. The 6.2km development links Killaloe (Co #Clare) and Ballina (Co #Tipperary), easing congestion, improving road safety, and boosting tourism and the local economy. The Brian Ború Bridge, completed over 2.5 years, is central to the scheme, which also upgrades the R494 and introduces new pedestrian and cycling routes. This project, part of the National Development Plan, will enhance connectivity, protect heritage towns, and support regional development, benefiting both communities and the broader Shannon region.

Doolin for #seawednesday 🌊

Doolin is a popular spot for a lot of different reasons. Located in the Burren, it is close to many other hotspots like the Cliffs of Moher, Lisdoonvarna, the Doolin Cave (largest stalactite in the Northern Hemisphere), Doonagore Castle and Fanore beach. Its ferries can also bring you out to the Aran Islands. It's a very lovely and welcoming village that is famous for traditional Irish music - there's always a sesh on somewhere.

The photo is of the Atlantic ocean taken from the Burren. The photo has been mirrored so each side of the image is a reflection of the other. The bottom portion of the image is a green field with rocks dotted around - the rocks then concentrate in the centre of the image as that's where the shore is. In the middle of the image is the sea which appears like a small round lake because of the distortion causes by the mirroring. On either side of the sea the land slopes down into the sea. There are more rocks and some houses visible which gradually get smaller as you you get further away from the centre. The sky above is bright and blue with some clouds.
