Just been setting up my little CNC with @millmage_software from @LightBurnLaser. Software install has all gone well and quickly up and running with GRBL 1.1 Arduino Uno controller.
Note to self: don't mix up the z-probe cables as it will short out on the grounded metal frame and cause you a few hours of frustration! #CNC

Part one, the underbelly, of a vacuum table is done. Just bought a used 1.5KW vacuum pump. So next up making a design for the top, plan is 3 zones. Total area is 122x73 cm.

Tiki mask made in aluminium. Weighs about 2kg I think. I could have polished it, but I think it the shine would make the details harder to see, and the toolpaths also looks a bit like wood grain.

Years ago i crashed a tablet computer at work, so i needed a new one, which i don`t want to break again.

So there needed to be a better, more rugged protective cover to use this thing at construction sites and while doing customer service.

The real problem is, you have other things in your hands, and this thing need to be transported too, and you dont want to go again to get this only. This is the situation such things falling down and break.

So i came up with a cover made from wood, especially the wooden parts from cable rolls.

I was not sure if this is a great idea, but made it anyways with my cnc mill.

Its made of 2 layers, with a pocket inside for the hardware, and milled out screen hole and thin parts to reach to the buttons and have holes for speakers and charger connector.

Prototype of a small pump I designed and CNC millied for the purposes of teaching.
The parts were designed using math and SCAD (where you program your part). The code is on the last image.

When the middle part rotates, it forces the ring surrounding it to turn, which forces gasses/fluids through the channels below.
