The biggest issue I take with #JDVance's stance of viewing #NativeAmericans as "enemy", replacing #ColumbusDay with #IndigenousPeoplesDay as something to be fought against, and the idea of keeping all these monuments to racially controversial figures (in general, because he's also in favor of monuments to the #Confederate leaders who murdered hundreds of thousands of Americans in the name of #WhiteSupremacism and #feudalism), comes even before getting into whether or not any of this is factual, but just the general concept as a whole...

In successful #ConflictManagement and #ConflictResolution, we always have to keep in mind that every #conflict has to end.

The main point of renaming these sites and these holidays, of observing the wrongs that were done and encouraging peaceful coexistence, isn't just because some people are "offended", it's because the conflict is not useful to society, and we want it to resolve.

That he doesn't want to resolve conflict speaks volumes about him.

So far, after hundreds of interpersonal experiments, this heuristic has not failed.
