Meta „pomaga” twórcom. Od teraz sami musicie ścigać złodziei swoich Reelsów

Meta (Facebook) ogłosiła wprowadzenie nowego narzędzia „Content Protection”. W teorii ma ono pomóc twórcom w walce z plagą kopiowania wideo. W praktyce, jest to cyniczne zepchnięcie całej odpowiedzialności i „brudnej roboty” śledczej na samych twórców.

Zamiast proaktywnie blokować kradzione treści i karać złodziei, Meta daje twórcom… panel, w którym sami mogą klikać. Poświęcając swój czas nie na tworzenie treści, lecz na… śledzenie tych, którzy ich okradają. Co im zresztą i tak realnie niewiele daje.

Jak działa ta iluzja ochrony?

Nowe narzędzie automatycznie wykryje Reelsy, które w całości lub częściowo kopiują oryginalną pracę twórcy. Następnie twórca, zamiast pracować nad nowym materiałem, musi zalogować się do panelu i ręcznie zdecydować, co zrobić ze skradzionym klipem:

• Track (Śledź): najbardziej cyniczna z opcji. Twórca może dodać do klipu małą etykietę z linkiem do swojego profilu (atrybucja). W praktyce: złodziej nadal ma Twój film, nadal nabija na nim zasięgi (i generuje przychód Mecie), ale łaskawie dostaje „etykietkę”, że to Twoje. Absurd? Nie jedyny.
• Block (Blokuj): pozwala ukryć skopiowany klip. I tyle. Złodziej nie otrzyma absolutnie żadnych konsekwencji za kradzież od Mety. Meta NIC mu nie zrobi (bo przecież swoimi amoralnymi działaniami zwiększa zasięgi i zwiększa dochód Mety).
• Release (Uwolnij): pozwala zignorować kradzież, czyli po prostu godzisz się na to, by Cię okradano…

Kpina z twórców: złodziej nie poniesie kary

Tu dochodzimy do sedna absurdu. Jak słusznie zapewne już zauważasz Drogi Czytelniku, co z tego, że namierzysz bota z Wietnamu? Pójdziesz na lokalny posterunek? Meta doskonale o tym wie i wprost przyznaje, że wybranie opcji „Blokuj” w żaden sposób nie nałoży automatycznej kary na konto, które dopuściło się kradzieży.

To jest iluzja działania i walka z wiatrakami. Twórca marnuje swój uniwersalny zasób – czas – na zabawę w „koci-koci łapci” z botami, które po zablokowaniu założą trzy nowe konta w pięć minut. Meta umywa ręce, a problem zostaje nierozwiązany. Ale za to w raportach kwartalnych Meta będzie mogła się pochwalić akcjonariuszom: „wspomagamy twórców!”.

Haczyk? Ochrona tylko dla Facebooka

Na domiar złego, narzędzie jest oferowane tylko twórcom, którzy publikują swoje Reelsy na Facebooku. System co prawda wykryje kopie na Instagramie, ale jeśli jesteś twórcą działającym tylko na IG, to Meta ma Cię w nosie, choć IG to też przecież Meta. Absurd? Owszem, kolejny.

Narzędzie jest wdrażane globalnie dla twórców w programie monetyzacji lub tych, którzy już korzystali z Rights Managera.

Unia stawia zarzuty: Meta i TikTok nie chroniły dzieci. Grozi im 6% kary z globalnych obrotów
