The showcase for #CosmicHorrorsJam II is now available to watch on YouTube. Thanks to everyone who took part in the #gamejam this year, the entries were fantastic.
well, just pushed the first post-jam update to my Cosmic Horrors Jam game, "roots below"
its my first jam in many years, and by far the most complete game i've done
it's been widely* hailed as "somewhat playable", "the second most fun game in a jam with about 50 entries", and "haha i love slay the spire"
*for given values of "widely"

Just over 12 hours until the final results are in for the second #CosmicHorrorsJam. Why not check out some games and give them a rating, a feedback comment is super useful too. Sort for games with fewer ratings to see which could use your attention!
Even if you haven't submitted to this #gamejam and don't have the ability to vote, you can still leave a comment with your thoughts on the entry. It really helps out the hardworking #gamedev s who make fantastic jam games!
Yesterday I submitted my game to the #cosmichorrorsjam! It's an atmospheric puzzle game called Sigils of the Unseen. You can play it here https://andynoelker.itch.io/sigils-of-the-unseen
Thank you so much to @mechjam for hosting! I haven't done a game jam in 10 years and this was such a fun and fulfilling experience. I learned so much. I had to scope this project waaay down from what I originally wanted to do, but I am really proud of what I could make in 2 weeks!
alrighty, the little jam game is done! Originally intended for #GWJ62, I missed that deadline and managed to barely squeeze it in for #CosmicHorrorsJam
things i had time for:
- the overall gameplay loop
- a couple of cards!
- a couple of enemies!
- someee sounds
- a tutorial
- bad writing
things i didn't have time for:
- variety. cards, enemies, art are all from a limited pool
- sound
- good writing
- balance/playtesting

#cosmichorrorsjam update: Puzzles can now be solved to unlock doors. Puzzles visually indicate when they're solved and doors show how many puzzles need to be solved for them to open. It's coming along! All art is still placeholder
#cosmichorrorsjam update: I'm aiming to make a low res 3D puzzle game. Started by prototyping some puzzle logic in 2D and then have spent my time figuring out how to migrate to 3D. You can see progress in the 2 captures below. All art is placeholder for now, but it feels good to get something that is starting to work!
I knew I wanted to try my hand at a low-res 3D game before the jam started so I've been prepping going through @DevLogLogan #godotengine tutorials. They're really great! https://www.youtube.com/@DevLogLogan
I'm starting the #cosmichorrorsjam today which is the first game jam I've done in a decade! I'm hoping this is a good way to force me to learn #godotengine beyond a basic tutorial level. I'm nervous but excited! I love that the jam is 2 weeks which fits the chaotic life of a parent way better than weekend jams
