This orange wire controls the buzzer for my intercom unit, reckon if I put a resistor between it and the screw it would lower the volume of the buzzer?

All the electrical work is done, now I need to design & build a timer-controller
New blog post!
In which I show how I am powering a typical 120mm PC case fan from a USB port to quietly cool my Raspberry Pi cluster.
CW: bad soldering skills
It wouldn't be a project if you don't blow a couple capacitors along the way, right?
...right?
My apartment is a mess... 😭
Wrapped up the 3D modelling and prints. Quite happy with it. Designed a tilted stand as well but still getting used to that and not even sure I want / need it.

Die selbst gemachte Maske hat tollfubktioniert.
Danach gings in den SMD Ofen der auch besser performt hat als gewöhnlich.
Platinen sind fertig und werden dann am Donnerstag als Teil der Roboter Kits übergeben. Freu mich schon! #diy #making #soldering #diy_electronics
I'm thinking about adding a camera to my #3dprinter and integrating the camera stream into #octoprint .
Are there any projects / products which are adding some IR LEDs to the current #raspberrypi camera module 3 (https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/camera-module-3/)?
Is there a retailer in the UK of hobbyist electronics (e.g. Arduinos and the like) that will allow me to search by functionality, rather than just giving me a menu of product ranges?
It's one of the more annoying things about... well, most computing vendors. You get given a list of product ranges at the top level, which presupposes that I know all about all of them in order to find the thing that I want to do.

Hej Folks! #FrageAnDieBastler
Mal rein hypothetisch, Du wärst ein Querstromventilator (Walzenlüfter) mit 40-45mm Durchmesser und max 55cm länge..
Wo würdest Du zum Verkauf angeboten werden?
*hasst die drecks googelei*
Guys.. please... stop using your soldering irons at >350º celsius... You are just obliterating your tips...
It is the fifth time that I see a video of dudes roasting their tips at 480º celsius...
If 350º (max) is not enough for you, change to an another tip shape or help your soldering iron with the hot air gun or a preheater platform.
The “cardboard prototype” stage was frustrating me today: loose soldering points made the display unreliable and the firmware on the nrf 52 development kit kept dropping uart packets. #diy_electronics
