I’ve seen so many Google Search summaries that end up giving the wrong information. The user would only realize that when clicking to the linked source.
They put sort off a footnote link that only takes users to a side column that further distances them from the source. Why not link directly to the source? #darkux #UX

Dear Google - I've clicked "No thanks" a hundred times by now. This is harassment at this point. How to I report this to HR? 🤔
There seems to be some dark UX cooking with merchants and PayPal's "automatic payments" functionality.
I checked my PayPal's active subscriptions and noticed following:
- There are automatic payments for merchants where I wasn't aware of consenting to an automatic payment scheme.
- I have quite a few active payment subscriptions for services where I have cancelled recurring payments long time ago.
I'm not aware of abuse of the unnecessary active automatic payments but by principle it sucks that merchants don't protect consumer payment information with expected rigor.
#Threads has these stupid "Started a thread" #notifications, which are so irritating. Some PM wanted to drive "engagement", I guess.
There seems to be no way of turning them off (e.g. https://old.reddit.com/r/ThreadsApp/comments/19b18p4/is_there_a_way_to_disable_user_started_a_thread/).
Disabled notifications with prejudice.
How long does it take to say no to sharing any unnecessary data when browsing a web page? 3 minutess and 45 seconds it turns out. A little longer on a phone.

Now, I try to add her as a teen so she can use her #Amazon gift card. Gift card is off by $0.32. Will it use the gift card? nope. have to buy a gift card for $0.32 and send it to her because it won't let me split the payment from her gift card to the rest on the car on file for her account, because it wants to use my accounts card for the full amount. That’s #DarkUX if I've ever seen it, kids gift cards can't be used unless you use the exact amount.

Just so you are aware, this is what I have to do to look at things on Twitter:
- Go to some profile: big banner asking me to join Twitter covers the whole thing. Tap the cross.
- Expand a tweet: same banner is back… BUT: tapping the cross takes you BACK to the precious page. No, to actually see the tweet and replies, you have to RELOAD the page.
This is the perpetual dance. Every single page.
