Nach dem gigantischen #Databreech in den USA scheint es in der #EU zunehmend Institutionen zu geben, die zweifeln, ob die Preisgabe aller ihrer Daten an #office365 und #copilot+ wirklich so eine tolle Idee war.

Their #nationalsecurity directly affects the security of a #Europe that is stuffed full of their nuclear weapons (who has the button?) and more than 100.000 soldiers who are virtually uncontrolled by the host nations.

People with ties to DOGE are using AI—accessed via Microsoft’s Azure service—to sort through Education Department data with “personally identifiable information for people who manage grants, as well as sensitive internal financial data” while they look for ways to save the government money across departments, The Washington Post reported, citing two unnamed people (a department spokesperson told the Post they’re looking for efficiencies, and there’s “nothing inappropriate or nefarious”).

The DOGE team is using AI software accessed through Microsoft’s cloud computing service Azure to pore over every dollar of money the department disburses, from contracts to grants to work trip expenses, one of the people said. Lower-level department staffers were directed by agency leadership to let Musk’s teams access the sensitive financial data, the person said.

Received yet another notice of a data breech -- can't count them all.

This one involves a data breech & ransomware attack involving Young Consulting (a "risk management" service) & Blue Shield of CA which occurred on or about 04/13/2024.

The thing about these notices which offer post-hoc data monitoring & ID theft protection services for free but only months (& sometimes years) after the breech, which means your data already could have been used long ago.

I'm not worried about this one because I froze all 3 of my credit reports a week or so ago but it makes you wonder how/why these breeches occur so frequently, when the risk of such breeches is so well known.

3I'm already signed up w/2 credit monitoring/reporting services -- #Experian & #IDX-- and am being offered another thru #CyberScout at #TransUnion company.

Don't really need it but it's free & I guess you can't have too much credit monitoring in this day & age. 🤷‍♂️
