With the AIFF-FSDL Master Rights Agreement set to expire on December 8 and no renewal in place, FSDL had suspended the Indian Super League from June 11. english.mathrubhumi.com/sports

Aside: I recently gave #FSDL double meaning depending on context..

Fediverse social development lifecycle: Sociosphere. #SX inter-personal perspective, Social web, social experiences, socio-cultural impact, fediverse developer ecosystem, fediverse #culture.

Free software development lifecycle: Technosphere. Free software movement, #SOSS initiatives, service / solution development. Ecosystem formation in grassroots environments, cocreation.

@silverpill @pepper0

I made a similar case to @erlend and @zicklag some time ago, relating to #Muni town's #p2p technologies.

If one is content with small uptake, and maybe earning sustainable income from that for a small team, or even a decent SMB or mid-sized business, then all is well.

If ones ambition level is larger than that, things are a whole different matter, and much more forces need to be accounted for.

At Social coding commons the #FSDL considers these..

For Social experience design, a solution development method, I defined #FSDL to refer to the end-to-end #FreeSoftware development lifecycle.

Since the definition under #SX of #SocialNetworking means "any direct or indirect human interaction between people" this means that any #software that interacts with people has a #social experience that might be part of the #fediverse.

Hence I consider overloading FSDL to also mean "fediverse social development lifecycle" and both uses are equivalent. πŸ€”

@daj @thisismissem

There's a general anti-pattern to many #FOSS projects, which I call the "One Man Army", where over time - as the popularity of a project steadily grows - just coding isn't enough and more and more additional aspects of the Free software development lifecycle, the #FSDL, must be addressed in order for the project to remain sustainable. Pixelfed at the time was my inspiration to coin the anti-pattern:

The objective of Social experience design is to deliver solutions that match 'stakeholder' needs. This includes needs of the people developing the software. #SX has a sustainability-first focus and instead of "FOSS projects" refers to #SOSS initiatives. Sustainable open social systems / software / solution / services. Projects that address the relevant aspect of their #FSDL, the end-to-end Free software development lifecycle.

To add #social layers, beyond #technosphere.

@coderefinery πŸ’―

Totally. I started #SocialCoding movement at coding.social and discuss.coding.social

Coding is social and if working on social networking solutions "social coders social code the social code" πŸ˜…

Exploring some fascinating subjects, like Social experience design #SX, Sustainable open social software / systems / services #SOSS, Free software development lifecycle #FSDL and hedonic peer production (a method that the movement 'self-services' i.e. dogfoods, among others.

@jenniferplusplus @jonathankoren

It inspired me to define the #OneManArmy social experience design anti-pattern.

Related.. I stopped considering #FOSS as a workable concept, other than idk licensing talk. Instead use #SOSS for Sustainable open social software / systems / services. Which are projects that properly address relevant aspects of their #FSDL, their Free software development lifecycle that prescribe #sustainability-first and at all times.

E.g. post no Zuck open letters before that.

@profdiggity @privacysafe @techcrunch

OT now. No, in the model I'm working on not #SLDC. Or rather #FSDL is a variant /subset of SDLC (depending how you look at it).

The #FreeSoftware development lifecycle is decidedly different than what we find across the well-organized business and institutional world of IT, requires different approaches, procedures and workflows.

I think that adoption of many familiar patterns & practices that work in the business world is factor in FOSS unsustainability.

@profdiggity @privacysafe @techcrunch

Thank you in return, as Responsiveness and Receptiveness are qualities of the #FSDL, the #FreeSoftware development lifecycle that #SOSS initiatives address and tailor for their particular line of work.

On point 4, I think there's more obligation. I was wrong-footed by the boost of @yaleprivacylab and unaware that the same party was behind it. This should be made clear, or there's conflict of interest. Someone might use accounts like that to growth-hack.
