I feel like this one has been a little bit buried in fan discussions because it lives on Netflix, & while the show looks fun from its trailer, it doesn’t look like it brings much new to the RomCom genre.

However it does, in my opinion, by simply doing things better than other shows in its genre. But what do I mean by that?

But how could I not? When said band anime not only does right by musicians/music, but is also damn funny & heartwarming? When it experiments with animation styles & techniques to convey the characters’ feelings? When it’s so perfectly captures the mental feel of social anxiety, & externalizes it into hilarious & surreal imagery?

I have never watched a Gundam anime before this one - go ahead and revoke my anime fan card now - but it makes me want to check them out if any of the rest of them are this good.

The Gundam fights are great, the politicking & back room maneuvering are interesting, and there many pertinent themes.

Not beating around the bush, Chainsaw Man is an anime masterpiece. Particularly in cinematography & animation. It manages things that are rare to see even in quality movie productions, much less animated shows.

More than that, while it has a very immature & over the top aesthetic and treatment of violence & sex at first glance, giving the show time to explore them reveals a surprising thematic & character depth.

In the final season of this #anime, Mob confronts the realities and responsibilities of his powers, & what it means to truly accept himself.

The season was full of both fun and emotional moments, great action, & good themes. It was a great send-off for these characters, & provided yet another banger opening. I’m going to miss them.

If you‘ve not watched Mob Psycho 100 yet, do yourself a favor and change that.

While the second half of season one of this #anime does not have the novelty factor to boost it as high as the first half did, it remains just as sweet, funny, and heartwarming as it was in its terrific beginning.

The Forgers are a wonderful little faux family slowly becoming a true found family. I love them all, and I will watch this show until they stop putting out episodes.

#Anime don’t often focus on father-daughter relationships or dynamics (and when they do it’s too often creepy), but this show does so very well, and does so, somehow, between a person reincarnated as a living sword and a young #catgirl named Fran.

While the sword, called Teacher, is technically the MC, #Fran is in many ways the real MC and the heart of the show.

This #anime surprised me. The trailer looked good, & the concept was amusing, if hard to explain, but I still wasn’t expecting it for the top 10.

Let me try to explain it as best I can - The MC always wanted to be the big power in the shadows who, unbeknownst to the world or good guys, is the one making it possible for them to win - the “Eminence in Shadow,”pulling strings.

The return of the Bleach anime has been everything that I was hoping it would be. The pacing is excellent, the art and animation are fantastic, and the characters and plot feel stronger than they did in the manga.

The first cour of the second season of this #anime wasn’t as enrapturing as the first season, but then that is a very high bar to clear for me. Even still, it was a great watch.

The Nokkers felt more menacing in season 1, but the threat they represent remains - and the continued conflict between them and Fushi gain interesting new layers.
