Ich habe die #FritzBox wieder in Betrieb genommen, einzig, um darüber einen #USB-Stick als zentralen Datenspeicher verfügbar zu machen. Grundsätzlich funktioniert das. Jedoch manipuliert die FritzBox den Zeitstempel der Dateien auf dem USB-Stick. Synchronisationssoftware, wie #FreeFileSync, wird eine andere Uhrzeit vorgespielt, als sie tatsächlich gespeichert ist. Das ist natürlich ein Unding und macht derlei Vorgänge völlig unbrauchbar.

FritzBox wieder abgeklemmt. Spart dann wenigstens Strom.

Aber mal ehrlich, was soll so ein Schwachsinn?!

Buena herramienta para los backups. Aunque yo ya la llevo utilizando +11 años.

Especialmente orgulloso del backup del teléfono por FTP y en tres ubicaciones distintas.

Bei #win10 habe ich das mit #freefilesync batch-skript über die Aufgabenplanung gemacht. Wie geht das bei #linux?

Seems like #FreeFileSync, the tool I use to sync to my cold storage backups became non-free software with the newest release.

It used to be released under the #GPL, but in the last version, they stuck some weird non-commercial clause and do-not-modify clauses, which is in direct contradiction to the GPL terms written below.

As it stands, now the EULA has a self-contradiction in it. The Debian packager is already in the forum.

Any advice on syncing files between #Linux #Windows and a #WebDAV cloud storage? #FreeFileSync is very unreliable with WebDAV, CloudSync on my NAS also, especially with often modified files. Copying is not an issue, but i need a reliable sync feature. #TechSupport #FileSync #OpenSource

Gute Option mal aufzuräumen ;)

Für #Linux gibt es super viele Tools zum #Backups machen. #Freefilesync ist super simpel, #rsync ist das Äquivalent über die Kommandozeile. Finde ich am einfachsten weil man einfach Dateien kopiert anstatt irgendwelche Backup-Archive zu machen, die man dann nur mit dem Programm lesen kann.

Bei #Windows auch mal im Appdata Ordner schauen, Browserprofil oder so. Ansonsten #Firefox account oder datenexport

Been meaning to try #Syncthing, even installed it on #Android, but was never really able to give it a really good spin.
I checked #robocopy but didn't feel confident enough to try it on win command line.
I tried the win version of #FreeFileSync as I had used with #Ubuntu years ago, but now I find the interface too complex. I am scared of losing data.
All said, based on your experience I'll really try Syncthing to see how it addresses my use case. Thank you so much. 👍
